SUMMERVILLE DAY CAMP
Our Summer is full of fun adventures and trips!
Every week your child will stretch their mind and body
while exploring a variety of themes and making lasting friendships.
2025 Summerville runs 9 weeks, from June 9 through August 15.
Grades K -- 5. (Your child must have attended kindergarten prior to enrollment.)
Families may select weeks (full/partial) or register for the full summer.
Each week has 1-2 out of the building enrichment trips.
Every Wednesday and Friday we explore a new park or swim at outdoor rec centers.
Family Membership is optional, but includes discounted tuition and priority registration.
WEEKLY THEMES
Note: Each week has a themed field trip, a trip to Wash Park or a visit to a local Denver playground.
Every Friday is a water day (weather pending)--please bring water attire, towel, and a change of clothes.
Week 1 - June 9: Welcome to Summer. Field Trip: Children’s Museum
Week 2 - June 16: Mad Scientist. Field Trip: Nature & Science Museum
Week 3 - June 23: Iron Chef. Field Trip: Women’s Bean Project tour
June 30: CLOSED - WSCC CLOSED FOR WEEK OF JULY 4
Week 4- July 7: Artistic Expressions: Field Trip: Denver Art Museum
Week 5 - July 14: Great Outdoor Explorations. Field Trip: Hike/canoe trip
Week 6 - July 21: Historians: Field Trip: CO History Museum and Center for CO Women’s History
Week 7 - July 28: Go Play (sports). Field Trip: Coors Field

Week 9 - August 11: Farewell to Summer. Field Trip: Paradice Island Pool
SAMPLE SCHEDULE
8:00 – 9:30 DROP OFF – OPEN CENTERS, BREAKFAST
Free Time, Breakfast/snack from home
9:30 - 10:00 MORNING GROUP TIME
Discuss plan for the day, get prepared for trips, etc, set goals.
10:00 -12:00 COMMUNITY EXPLORATION
Non-field trip days: Walk to Lincoln Elementary School Playground or Washington Park or travel to Denver playground to explore new spaces (please wear appropriate shoes for walking).
12:00 -12:30 LUNCH
Field Trip Days: We stick to lunch schedule (please provide nut-free lunches).
12:30 -1:00 COOL DOWN/QUIET TIME
Time after lunch to take a break and relax, read a book, find things to do quietly. When off-site, we will provide literacy moments in order to relax or follow the flow of the field trip.
1:00 -3:00 AFTERNOON LEARNING WORKSHOP
Themed activities for the week (led by teachers), guided activity: please prepare for new art, extra STEM activities that extend over the week and will come home). Field trip: Students will participate in full offerings. Arrival back at WSCC is by 4:00pm.
2:30-3:00 SNACK/BREAK
Please provide your child with an adequate amount of healthy snack(s). One (1) snack will be provided for kids but if they need extra we only ask no nuts. We will bring snacks off-site but include extra food in their lunch packs please.
3:30-5:30 CRAFTS & OPEN LEARNING CENTERS
Field trip days: campers will arrive to WSCC by 4:00pm. Non-Field Trip days: Arts & Crafts, Other Activities, Playing in the Assembly Hall/outside. All available options for group and individual choices.
4:30-5:00 CLEAN UP & PICK UP
Note: Each week at camp includes 1 field trip, 1 trip to a Denver Park, and 1 trip to a local Denver Rec Center.
Trips are usually between 10:00AM - 4:00PM (not exclusive, but an accurate window).
If you intend for your child to attend field trips, please arrive by 9:30AM at the latest. Please notify camp director about early pick-up needs on the Monday of each camp week. We can coordinate off-site pick up but can not promise accomidation for early arrival to WSCC.
