SUMMERVILLE DAY CAMP
Our Summer is full of fun adventures and trips!
Every week your child will stretch their mind and body
while exploring a variety of themes and making lasting friendships.
Summerville runs 11 weeks, from June through August. Grades K -- 5.
Families may select weeks (full/partial) or register for the full summer.
Each week has 3-4 out of the building field trips. Every Thursday is an outdoor water day.
Family Membership is optional, but includes discounted tuition, priority registration,
as well as two complimentary Community Dinner tickets,
and member rates at all WSCC events!

Week 1 - June 4: Welcome to Summerville
Campers will ring in the Summer by engaging in fun, team-building activities and neighborhood field trips!
Week 2 - June 10: Sports
During our sports week, campers will get their bodies moving while learning about teamwork and sportsmanship!
Week 3 - June 17: Exploring the Great Outdoors
Campers will learn about Colorado's environment by hiking and exploring local hiking trails and parks!
Week 4 - June 24th: Science
Campers will become scientists by exploring hands-on experiments and investigating how/why things happen!
Week 5 - July 1: Around the World (We will be closed July 4th)
Campers will experience each other's cultures and traditions as we research different places around the world!
Week 6 - July 8: Drama
Campers will bring stories to life this week. We will practice writing, directing and acting in our own plays!
Week 7 - July 15: Art
Campers will visit a variety art collections and produce their own art using a variety of mediums including acrylic paints, watercolors, charcoal and clay!
Week 8 - July 22: Building and Construction
Campers will use tools and building materials to discover how structures are built. We will explore local architecture by visiting an array of historic neighborhoods around Denver, including our own!
Week 9 - July 29: Iron Chef
Campers will discover their own inner chef during this week. We will learn the basics of cooking and baking -
all culminating in our Iron Chef cooking contest at the end of the week!
Week 10 - August 5: Under the Sea
Campers will cool off with an assortment of outdoor water activities. We will explore the difference between ocean life and fresh water life we have in Colorado!
Week 11 - August 12: Farewell to Summer
Campers will bid farewell to summer with our end of the year party and annual trip to Elitches!

Choices include: Dramatic Play, Art, Blocks, Sensory, Games, Library and STEM
9:00 – 9:30 MORNING COMMUNITY TIME
9:30-12:00 COMMUNITY EXPLORATION
Non-field trip days: Walk to Lincoln Elementary School Playground or Washington Park
12:30-1:00 QUIET READING TIME
1:00-3:00 AFTERNOON LEARNING WORKSHOP
Teacher Led Activities, Open Choice Centers: Including Dramatic Play, Art, Blocks, Sensory, Games, Library and STEM
3:30-4:00 AFTERNOON COMMUNITY TIME
4:00-5:00 CRAFTS & OPEN LEARNING CENTERS
Choices include: Dramatic Play, Art, Blocks, Small Works and Sensory, Music, Library and STEM
5:00-5:30 OUTDOOR PLAYGROUND OR INDOOR GAMES
5:30-6:00 TABLE TOP CHOICES/CLEAN UP
Note: Each week has 3-4 field trips. Trips are usually 9:30AM - 12PM (GROUP A) and 1PM - 3:30PM (GROUP B)
